Peristaltic Filling Systems

Peristaltic filling machines have long been used in the Pharmaceutical Industry because of their extreme accuracy on very small volume fills as well as their ability to avoid cross-contamination in multiple fluid paths. Additionally, peristaltic systems practically eliminate the risk of micro particle contamination in clean room applications required for invitro products.

Accuracies of 1% on fill sizes as small as 0.17 ml can be achieved on this type of filler. Accuracies of 0.5% can be achieved with dispensing volumes as small as 1 ml. The usefulness of this range of accuracy is obvious on high value products such as drugs, fragrances, specialty chemicals, etc.

The peristaltic filling system uses a computer-controlled roller drive system to move product through a piece of surgical tubing by peristaltic action. Different sizes of surgical tubing will determine both throughput as well as relative accuracies. One of the most outstanding features of using inexpensive tubing to convey the liquid is the ability to throw it away when finished thereby virtually eliminating cleanup! This feature solves some very difficult problems in applications involving pigments or reactive chemicals that permanently coat the fluid path once it is used.

This type of machine is best suited for smaller volume fills on low viscosity products (< 2500 cps) without particulates. However, larger, industrial capacity peristaltic pumps are also available for certain higher volume and/ or higher viscosity applications that can justify their use (and cost). If your application only calls for low to medium viscosity and fill volumes greater than 1 or 2 oz , then we highly recommend our overflow fillers.  For applications requiring filling of high viscosity products (up to 200,000 cps) or products with particulates in it, we recommend our servo positive displacement fillers.

The operating system components are specifically chosen for extreme durability; some components experience failures only after 400 million cycles of operation. Compact Unit Conserves Precious Floor Space Under Low Ceilings.
If you have tight space considerations, you can fit this machine under 8' ceilings; the base unit only takes up 2-1/2'X2-1/2'.

Sealed panels and Sanitary Fluid Systems are Easy to Clean.
Machine meets NEMA 4x standards for full washdown. Meets FDA requirements for "3A" sanitary compliance. Medical grade peristaltic pump delivers all fluids through surgical tubing; these fluid paths can be easily cleaned, exchanged, or simply thrown away after each use. These type of fluid paths ensure cleanliness and eliminate the chance of cross contamination from one product to the other.

Medical Grade Peristaltic Pump System is Highly Accurate & Flexible.
Our precise digital control of the pump head drive system makes it possible to deliver extremely small fill volumes on high value products (as low as 0.17 ml) with a minimum of 1 % accuracy. Accuracies of 0.5% are attainable on slightly larger dispense volumes. A wide range of fill volumes from fractional milliliters to liters can be achieved on the same system by merely changing the bore sizes on inexpensive surgical tubing. Dripping is virtually eliminated by the inherent capillary action of the fluid path as well as a partial reversal of the pump at the end of each fill cycle.

Control System is Simple to Use.
Visual Display unit provides all operating instructions in plain English and in complete sentences. Operator can navigate through the simple, intuitive, menu system without referring to a manual. All filling parameters, calibration routines, and system errors are displayed to the operator with simple instructions as to what to do next.

Changeover to Different Containers is Fast, Flexible, & Easy.
Changes in bottle or vial diameters are easily accomplished using nozzle holders that glide into place without any hand tools. Bottle height adjustment is automatic by electric linear actuator. Setup parameters are memorized by the computer for multiple products.

Easy to Expand Capacity at Minimal Cost.
Our modular design and componentry allow for millitary style replacement and expansion of the operating system, the number of filler nozzles, pump heads and related fluid path components. The cost to double the capacity of a four head machine is usually less than 20% of the original purchase price.
